Bob Hope’s Futuristic Estate Sells for $13M

Spaceships are making a huge comeback this fall, from movies like “Arrival” and “Passengers” to T.V. shows like “MARS.” The world is obsessed with space and spaceships; and it looks like the buyer of Bob Hope’s $13 million space age home is too. The futuristic estate looks more like an alien spacecraft than a traditional Palm Springs home. The modern property was designed by John Lautner in 1980 and stands as the largest private residence ever designed by the architect.

The Bob Hope house has been on and off the market since 2014 and was originally priced at a whopping $34 million. The property has also entertained dignitaries from all over the world. It looks like the new owners scored on their sci-fi abode!

The 23,366 square-foot estate includes 10 bedrooms and 9.75 bathrooms. The innovative property features an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis court, putting green and spa. The lavish mansion also features stunning views of Coachella Valley, an elevator, maid’s quarters and a guest house. Our favorite feature has to be the striking design of the roof, which curves around the entire house.

The iconic compound resides in Palm Springs. The average list price in Palm Springs is around $400,000. Though the exquisite home is way above the average list price, the Redfin estimate has it at $23,009,381 million.  With all of the homes out-of-this-world features, were not surprised!
