Kelsey Grammer Sells Beverly Hills Home; Still Not Free of Homes Shared with Camille

Kelsey Grammer House 701 Linden Dr

Kelsey Grammer sold this home and moved into the L.A. home he once shared with ex-wife Camille.

Kelsey Grammer’s divorce drama never seems to end thanks to the real estate he shares with his ex-wife Camille. He just sold his Beverly Hills home at 701 North Linden Dr for $6.7 million, which he purchased with his new wife, Kayte Walsh, on April 25, 2012, for $6.5 million. Kayte has admitted to Oprah that she’s “not proud” of how her relationship began with Kelsey, who was still married to Camille when they started dating. Kelsey’s divorce from Camille became the central plot of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” in which she starred.

The home Kelsey just sold features five bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and more than 6,000 square feet. It has a Spanish Colonial style, with wood-beamed ceilings, arched windows, and Spanish tile. Both levels feature large windows that look out into the pool and garden area. There’s a separate guest house with one room, making the total bedroom count six, and a detached three-car garage. The home is completely private, but is a short walk to all the bars and restaurants of Beverly Hills. The home was listed by Christopher Dyson, of Keller Williams Hollywood Hills.

Camille Grammer House 3250 Serra Rd

The Malibu home where Camille resides; it is still on the market for $14,995,000

After his STARZ show, “Boss,” was cancelled, Kelsey wanted to rent it out for $30K a month and move into his home at 261 Baroda Dr in Los Angeles, which he still owned with ex-wife Camille. But Camille wasn’t happy about that; the home (at the time) was valued at nearly $18 million, and Camille thought it would be difficult to sell with Kelsey and Kayte living in it. Kelsey argued that since Camille was living in their Malibu home located at 3250 SERRA Rd (and valued at $17.5M at the time), it was only fair that he lived in the L.A. home. The court decided they should sell both homes, as well as a third home they own in Colorado. Flash forward eight months; the Malibu home is still on the market, listed by Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker, but the price has been significantly reduced, to $14,995,000. The L.A. home was on the market for the same price (I guess that’s fair!), but was delisted for an unknown reason on April 4. The Colorado home is still on the market for $6,995,000.

How would you feel living in the home you once shared with your ex? Would you try to rent it out while it’s on the market, or stay put?

Rupert Murdoch Buys $30M Vineyard with Unique Past

Rupert Murdoch VineyardYesterday Rupert Murdoch tweeted: “About to celebrate buying beautiful small vineyard right in LA. Great wine, Moraga, owned by great Angelino, Tom Jones. Time cover, 1961!” The property he was referring to is located at 1050 MORAGA Dr, and hit the market for $29.5 million; the sale is currently pending.

The property includes a 7,724 square foot home and the Moraga Vineyards and Winery. It is currently owned by Thomas Jones, the retired CEO of the Northrop Corporation. According to the New Yorker, Jones “converted six acres of his sixteen-acre property into the only commercial vineyard in Los Angeles. He started planting in 1978; the first bottling in 1982 was critical. The Jones spread contains eight small mini-vineyards, each contributing a distinct characteristic to the Moraga blend. Although Jones is aware that a Bel Air wine has about as much cachet as a Sylvester Stallone painting, he seems cautiously confident.” Now the Moraga wines have a good reputation, selling for $125 per bottle.

The property is located in the heart of Bel Air. In addition to the main residence, there is a guest house and a 4,400 square foot office building, which is currently being used as the winery sales office. There’s also a pool, guest quarters, stone patio with built-in barbeque, and of course an extensive wine cellar.

According to the L.A. Times, in the 1930s and ’40s, it was a horse ranch owned by Victor Fleming, who directed both Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz. It was also the first commercial winery to be bonded in L.A. after Prohibition ended in 1933.

Olivia Newton-John Lists Florida Estate for $6.2M

Olivia Newton John HomeOlivia Newton-John, 64, best known for her role in the 1970s hit movie “Grease,” and her husband, John Easterling, 54, just listed their Jupiter, Florida estate for $6.2 million. The four bedroom, 3.5 bath home was built in 2007 and spans 6,383 square feet. It is located on the Jupiter Inlet Colony, which is on the southernmost tip of Jupiter Island, surrounded by inlets and the Atlantic Ocean. The area has been home to a variety of celebrities, including Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Kid Rock and Celine Dion.

Olivia and John purchased the home in June 2009 for $4.1 million, and spent more than $2 million in renovations. The home has hurricane impact-rated glass windows and doors, which is pretty important given the proximity to the ocean. It has a beachy feel, with custom driftwood cabinets, cypress tongue-and-groove ceilings, coral stone flooring, and lush tropical landscaping. The high-tech and eco-friendly home is systematic… hydromatic… ultramatic..with a Lutron sound, video, shade and lighting system, media room, Jandy® controlled heating, energy-efficient air conditioning, Life Source Water Purification system, and rain water harvesting irrigation system.

The master suite has sitting areas, a bar, gigantic walk-in closets, a built-in pop-up TV, and a spacious deck with a spiral staircase. Outside there’s a European Edge lagoon and spa, a boat dock, and a beach with a picturesque hammock. It is listed by Jo Ann Jacobson, Seawind Realty, LLC.

The surrounding water is perfect for snorkeling, canoeing, and boating…although Olivia doesn’t have the best history with love interests going out on the water. In 2005, shortly after they split, her ex-boyfriend, Patrick McDermott, faked his death by disappearing off of a fishing boat. He was later found in Mexico; many believed he did it to cash in on life insurance for his son. Olivia moved on and married John in 2008 at a secret ceremony at their Malibu, CA home, which they sold later that year for $10.1 million.

What do you think of their Florida abode? Is it love at first sight?

Celebrity Real Estate Roundup: Katy Perry, Mindy Kaling, Drew Barrymore, Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi

This week there were several high-profile celebrity moves in Montecito and the Hollywood Hills. Katy Perry and Mindy Kaling both bought in the hills, Drew Barrymore listed in Montecito, and Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi bought in Montecito. Read on for more!

Katy PerryKaty Perry House

7302 Mulholland Dr and 7310 Mulholland Dr
List Price: Rumored to be $11,200,000
Beds: 4 and 3
Baths: 3 and 3
Listed by: n/a

Even though Katy Perry’s West Hollywood home still hasn’t sold, The Real Estalker reports that she has decided to buy not one, but two adjoining properties further up in the Hollywood Hills for a combined $11.2 million.

The home at 7302 Mulholland is a mid-century modern built in 1953. It has walls of glass, clean modern lines, and an indoor/outdoor floor plan. A covered breezeway leads to a two-bedroom, one-bath guest house. There’s also a pool that overlooks the gorgeous L.A. skyline. The home was previously owned by Max Weinberg, a former drummer for Bruce Springsteen and band leader for Conan O’Brien. Weinberg purchased it from Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Foner, the parents of Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The home next door is a Spanish-style villa located on 2.33 acres. It has dramatic vaulted ceilings, curved doors and windows, and built-in cabinets in the family room. The master suite has a sitting area, fireplace, and private patio with a view. Outside there’s a pool, cabana and guest house. It was previously owned by Aileen Getty, heiress to oil baron J. Paul Getty. Getty purchased it from another heiress, Sybil Robson Orr, who owns a piece of the Wal-Mart fortune.

Both properties are accessible via a long driveway, offering plenty of privacy for Katy. It’s unknown which home she’ll choose to live in, but based on her the home she’s trying to sell, she seems to prefer old-world styles vs. modern ones, so our guess is that she’ll choose the home at 7310. And when family comes to visit, they’ll have two homes and two guest houses to choose from!

Mindy KalingMindy Kaling House

9309 Sierra Mar Dr
List Price: $1,695,000

Baths: 3.5
Listed by: Dustin Nicholas, Nicholas Property Group

According to the Huffington Post, Mindy Kaling, from “The Mindy Project” and “The Office,” just purchased a Spanish style home in the Hollywood Hills. The listing remarks indicate that the land is worth more than the home, noting that buyers could “develop or renovate” to create their dream home. The estate was built in 1926 and comes with three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It is located in the prestigious “Bird Streets,” which overlook the city and are minutes away from the Sunset Strip. Other celebs in the area include Nicky Hilton, Dr. Dre, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

We can’t wait to see what home Mindy develops on the property – though perhaps it was just an investment opportunity. After all, she still owns a Spanish-style bungalow in the heart of Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Drew Barrymore is trying to sell the Montecito estate where she married her husband, William Kopelman. It’s a pocket listing, which means details and photos haven’t been posted to the MLS. Barrymore purchased the property on June 3, 2010, for $5,705,000. The L.A. Times reports that she’s trying to sell it for $7.5 million, so if she gets her asking price, she stands to make a pretty penny.

The home was built in 1936 and has seven bedrooms, six baths and 6,000 square feet. It sits on two acres of lushly landscaped ground. Barrymore owned the house for two years before she and Kopelman decided to marry on the property. The day before the wedding, Kopelman sold his bachelor pad, a modern West Hollywood condo that has been featured in Elle Décor.

Montecito isn’t known for being a celebrity hotspot, but it does have a few notable residents, including Oprah Winfrey, Al Gore, and director Joel Schumacher. Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi owned a home in the neighborhood in 2006, and it looks like they’re about to return to the area…

According to TMZ, Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi just purchased a $26.5 million dollar mansion in Montecito. The home was never listed on the MLS, but The Real Estalker did some digging and discovered that it was previously owned by legendary interior decorator John Saladino – who sold it to  Tom and Heather Sturgess – who sold it to Ellen and Portia.

The sprawling 10,522 square foot estate sits on 13 acres (split into a 9.9 acre parcel and a 3.8 acre parcel).  The Italianate villa has a rustic and romantic feel, with 14,000 Italian tiles that date to the 18th century, wood beam ceilings, and exposed stone walls. It has six bedrooms, six baths, nine fireplaces and a guest house. Like many celeb homes, the pool overlooks the L.A. skyline. For photos of this amazing place, check out a previous write-up from Julia over at Hooked on Houses.

Ellen and Portia own several homes in the area, including a horse ranch in Thousand Oaks and a 7,265 square foot estate in Beverly Hills. With “Arrested Development” coming back, and Ellen’s talk show getting record ratings, it looks like it’ll be a good year for the couple.

Jessica Simpson HomeJessica Simpson just listed the Beverly Hills estate she bought after her divorce from Nick Lachey in 2005. The home, which she purchased under “Lime Orchard Trust” for $5,275,052, has a rich Hollywood history. It has been owned by several celebrities, including Ellen Degeneres, who bought it in 2001 and sold it in 2003 to Rick Yorn, a manager to such A-list celebrities as Leonardo Dicaprio and Cameron Diaz.

The five bedroom, 5.5 bath estate spans 5,500 square feet and has been recently renovated with interior designs by Rachel Ashwell, of Shabby Chic Couture. Details include ebonized hardwood floors, crown moldings, high ceilings in the living and dining room, a restaurant-style gourmet kitchen, and a stone courtyard that leads to a koi pond. The master suite has a sitting area with French doors that open to a large deck with view of the grounds. Outside, there’s a swimming pool surrounding by lushly landscaped grounds.

The home is right next door to the estate once owned by Kimora Lee Simmons, where filming took place for her reality TV show “Life in the Fab Lane.” It’s also around the corner from Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s residence.

“This area of Beverly Hills is dotted with homes owned by celebrities. You can often spot a star walking their dog through the many canyon trails nearby,” said Corina Galen, a Redfin real estate agent in Los Angeles.

The home is serene and private, which was important for the singer and reality TV star. Now that she’s pregnant, she’s likely looking for a new home with plenty of kid-friendly features. We’ll be on the lookout!

Behind the Candelabra and Inside the Homes of Liberace

behind-the-candelabra-posterLiberace – the King of Showmanship – had a flair for the extravagant, which extended to his many opulent homes. This Sunday viewers will get a chance to see those homes recreated in all their glory in HBO’s new movie, “Behind the Candelabra,” directed by Steven Soderbergh. The movie is based on the memoir Behind the Candelabra: My Life with Liberace, written by Liberace’s lover, Scott Thorson.

Early scenes of the film were shot at Zsa Zsa Gabor’s house, which she has been trying to sell since June 2011. You can see a glimpse of the home’s exterior – and its unique copper roof – in the trailer. Zsa Zsa was present at the home while the crew was filming; she is currently confined to a bed in a separate wing of the mansion. She and her husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, have been renting the home to movie studios to pay for her medical costs. In addition to “Behind the Candelabra,” the home appeared in the 2012 award-winning hit “Argo.”

On Monday, May 20, a sale was pending on Gabor’s home, and later that day it was delisted from the MLS, so it looks like she may have finally found a buyer. The new owner will have to deal with one unique stipulation; according to the Huffington Post, a Los Angeles judge ruled that Gabor and her ninth husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, can remain in their Bel Air house until the actress dies, or for three more years. A potential buyer must oblige to this “deferred transaction” in addition to paying the couple $325,000 a year.

Gabor’s Bel Air manse was the perfect set for the movie; its Old Hollywood style resembles Liberace’s homes in Palm Springs, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, which all resembled European castles – well, at least on the inside. He was known for purchasing lower-end houses and bedazzling the interior (pro tip: that’s not a good investment). One of his favorite hobbies was to collect art pieces and furniture for his homes, so each one had a distinct Liberace style.

Read on for more information on his fabulous – and no longer fabulous – abodes. Some have been beautifully preserved, while others have fallen to ruin. Like Liberace, each has a unique story…

Palm Springs

501 North Belardo Rd, Palm Springs, CA 92262

501 N Belardo Rd

Liberace purchased this home in 1966, and it was where he passed away in 1987. Rumor has it that Liberace decorated each of the bedrooms with a theme, including a Valentino Room with a sleigh bed, and a “Persian tent room” off to the side of the pool. When Liberace died, most of his furniture and belongings went to museums, so unfortunately we can’t see the home in its original splendor. However, a few years after his death the Liberace Foundation sold the home to Stefan Hemming, a San Francisco real estate investor, who refurnished the home in Liberace’s style. The listing photos reveal a master bedroom fit for a king, a large dining room with a commanding crystal chandelier and walls adorned with custom paintings, including one of Liberace himself.

1441 North Kaweah Rd, Palm Springs, CA 92262

1441 N Kaweah Rd

You can see Liberace’s influence throughout this home, from the plaque on the driveway that reads “Piazza de Liberace,” to the street sign in the entrance that says “Liberace Lane,” to the musical notes along the fence. Even the mailbox is shaped like a grand piano – sans candelabra. Liberace lived here from 1968 to 1971. The home’s current owners, Elizabeth Smalley and Garth Gilpin, bought the home in May 2010 for $625,000. The couple told Palm Springs Life that the prior owner was a fan of Liberace and Elvis Presley, and the interior was perhaps even more decadent and colorful than when Liberace lived there. “There were painted cherubs on the ceiling, a room that was Dalmatian and cow print, fake flowers, red velvet, gold, with Elvis and Liberace everywhere,” Smalley said. The listing photos are proof; you can see the cow print, red velvet and abundant fake foliage throughout the house. Smalley and Gilpin have since updated and restored the home, returning the gold-plated faucets to their original splendor.

Las Vegas

4982 Shirley St, Las Vegas, NV 89119

4982 Shirley St

Liberace bought this Las Vegas estate in the 1960s, and owned it until his death in 1987. Unfortunately JP Morgan Chase owns it now; it went into foreclosure in 2010 and hasn’t been sold since. According to Inside Edition, “the walls are stained, and the once beautiful landscaping is now just dirt…Wallpaper is crumbling, and wiring is exposed.” Terrance Dzvonick, a real estate investor, bought it in 2006 for $3.7 million, when it was being used as a banquet venue. However, when neighbors complained of noise and traffic due to events held at the home, the county zoning board denied Dzvonick’s license to operate. He told AOL News that without an operable business, it was impossible to make the more than $20,000-a-month mortgage payment.

Unfortunately there are no listing photos available on the MLS, but AOL News reports that there are a few hints at the former owner. There’s a portrait of Liberace above the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, marble pillars and crystal sconces adorn the home, and there’s a mural worth $1.5 million dollars above the master bedroom. Liberace claimed the mural was painted by a descendent of Michelangelo, though the truth to that has not been confirmed.

Liberace lived in this home from 1961 to 1979. The gigantic estate has 30 bedrooms, seven dining rooms, 17 pianos, and a hand-painted toilet. In 1975 Liberace attempted to turn it into a museum, with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting his non-profit foundation. He told The Daily Record, “I’ll pop in once in awhile to surprise the tourists. And I’ll continue to give parties here after hours, I think people are interested in how celebrities live and decorate their homes.” He was right! Within one month the museum had 17,000 reservations. Unfortunately soon after, the neighbors complained about noise and traffic from tourists, and the museum was shut down.

The most famous feature of this home is the piano-shaped swimming pool, with black and white keys embossed on the concrete. Liberace lived here from 1953 to about 1957, when the lack of security caused him to spend more time at his other estates. His mother and brother lived in the home while he was away, and unfortunately in 1957 his mother was attacked by two men in black hoods in the home’s garage. Many believed the attack was related to Liberace’s lawsuit against Confidential magazine, which had run an article alleging his homosexuality. He sold the home in the 60s, and it remains a tourist destination to this day. But Liberace isn’t the only famous person to own it; Ryan Stiles, from “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” purchased the home in 1997 for $525,000, and sold it in 2004 for $1,210,000.

20718 Pacific Coast Hwy, Unit 3, Malibu, CA 90265

20718 Pacific Coast Hwy

Liberace owned two adjacent co-ops at this location, on the famed Pacific Coast Highway. The building has since been converted into six condo units. According to the L.A. Times, this home featured a piano-shaped bar, piano-shaped couch, bath towels and ice bucket with keyboard designs, drinking glasses with swizzle sticks in the shape of musical notes, and his trademark: a black baby grand piano with candelabra on top. According to Bob’s Liberace, Liberace held his last Christmas party for family and friends at this estate. Liberace’s long-time publicist, Jamie James, said Liberace thought about Christmas all year long. James told the Las Vegas Sun, “He had seven homes at one point and decorated each one in a certain style…The Malibu mansion had black Christmas trees adorned in silver.”

Other Properties

Liberace also owned a 25,000-square-foot office building with a 5,000-square-foot residential penthouse, located at 7461 Beverly Blvd. The penthouse has been used for award show after-parties. He also owned a mansion in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where he kept many of his dogs (he owned 27 of them at one point).

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman Buy and Sell in L.A.

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman Tanager Way homeMegan Mullally, best known for her role as Karen on Will and Grace, and her husband, Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation, just sold their modern home located at 1435 Tanager Way for $9.97 million. The final sale on May 23 was $2.68 million less than what they were asking; the couple first listed it in September 2012 for $12.65 million, but pulled it off the market in November. Even at that price, the couple will make money from the deal; they purchased the home in 2003 for only $3.95 million under Megan’s “Chinese Laundry” trust (under which Peter Millsap is a trustee).

In December 2011 the couple bought a second home at 1775 Stone Canyon Road in Bel Air for $4.15 million. They purchased it under “Old Crenshaw Returns Trust,” which also lists Peter Millsap as a trustee. That may be where the two are residing now that their home on Tanager way has sold.

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman Stone Canyon homeThe couple must be fans of modern architecture and amazing views. Their home at Tanager Way in Los Angeles was on one the “bird streets” overlooking the L.A. skyline, and had a modern, beautiful interior designed by Ames Ingham (and featured in Elle Décor). It is completely walled and is located on a quiet cul-de-sac, offering plenty of privacy. The listing agent, Rory Barish of Keller Williams Beverly Hills, notes that it is on “one of the best, if not THE BEST, Bird Street.” The bird streets are popular among celebs; other stars in the neighborhood include Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Jodie Foster, Matthew Perry, and Jennifer Aniston.

Their Stone Canyon abode has the same modern, white architecture. It spans more than 5,100 square feet and has four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The listing agent, Michelle Nelson of Sotheby’s International Realty, describes it as “ideal for lavish parties or total privacy.” The home is currently decorated in modern, monochrome furniture, but our guess is that Megan and Nick will furnish it with a bit more color and pizzazz. The home overlooks Stone Canyon, so while there’s still an incredible view, it’s more of the nature variety.

Can you believe these are the homes of “Ron Swanson?”

Bruce Willis Lists Beverly Hills Home for $22 Million

Bruce Willis Beverly Hills HomeBruce Willis just listed his Beverly Hills estate for a whopping $22 million! The 11 bedroom, 11 bath home sits on almost a full acre of property. In addition to standard features, it comes with maid’s quarters, a media/music room, library and tennis court. It was built in 1928 but has been updated with modern amenities, including a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a steam shower in one of the (many) bathrooms. The furnishings are a mix of old and new, from modern white sofas to classic leather chairs and an antique-looking bed frame. Outside there’s a large pool, with a covered patio, cabana and built-in barbecue.

Willis purchased the home in June 2004 for $6.3 million, under his “Ix Nay” investment trust, which he has also used to buy several properties in New York. The former owner was Alan Ladd Jr., a film industry executive and producer who is famous for giving George Lucas the green light to make Star Wars. Other notable past and present residents include screenwriter Michael Leeson, NASCAR owner Ollen Bruton Smith, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and Michael Jackson.

“This area of Beverly Hills is known for having houses of celebrities, entertainment executives and CEOs of major companies. It’s not uncommon to see homes priced above $20 million,” said Corina Galen, a Redfin real estate agent in Los Angeles.

What do you think of Bruce’s home? Looks like all those Die Hard movies paid off!

Matt Hasselbeck Sells Bellevue, WA Home for $3.1M

Matthew Hasselbeck Bellevue HomeMatthew Hasselbeck, a quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts (and former Seahawk), just sold his home in Bellevue for $3.1 million. Matthew and his wife, Sarah, listed it on the MLS May 21 for $3,495,000, which means it sold in only eight days, for $395,000 under the asking price. It’s a sign of the times; many homes are selling in just a few days, as Redfin recently reported.

The 6,340 square foot home comes with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths. It sits above Meydenbauer Bay, with beautiful views of the water. The home includes a theater room, home gym (of course!), video surveillance system, and a terraced patio and lawn. It is located near Medina, home of Bill Gates and other Microsoft executives. Redfin Agent Diane Spera toured the home, and left the following Redfin Tour Insight:

“The home is very well appointed. The gate at the front opens to a large paved driveway and a four car garage. A formal entry opens to the living room, with a view of the lake. A formal dining room is next to it. There’s a large kitchen with a walk-in pantry and a large center island. The kitchen opens to a family room and another large dining area. The master bedroom is on the main level and has its own deck overlooking the lake. There’s also an office/den on the main level. There are three bedrooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom. The lower level has a bonus room and another bedroom and bathroom. The large backyard feels very private.”

Hasselbeck left the Seahawks in 2011, to sign on with the Tennessee Titans. He listed his home under a pocket listing in August 2012, but couldn’t find a buyer. On March 19 of this year he signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Shortly thereafter he listed his home on the MLS, which resulted in the quick sale. With the sale, he’ll cut all ties to Seattle, though he may still vacation at his home on Lake Chelan.

Ryan Stiles Sells Encino Home; Sale Pending on Cuba Gooding Jr.’s Home

When celebrities want to buy a home, they often purchase it under a trust, which is usually administered by their business manager. Such is the case with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ryan Stiles, who both conducted real estate deals over the past few days under their manager’s name, Bruce Lagnese. Lagnese also represents A-listers like Jennifer Aniston, who he has helped purchase several homes in New York and Los Angeles.

Cuba Gooding Jr House NorthridgeOn May 23 Cuba Gooding Jr. listed his home in Northridge, CA for $729,000, and a sale is already pending on it. The five bedroom, three bath home was built in 1976. Cuba purchased it in 1999 under “Jane Trust,” the same trust he used to purchase his Pacific Palisades home in 2000 (both are managed by Lagnese). Redfin agent Julie Jacobson toured the home, and left the following Agent Insight:

“The home has new paint and carpet, but seems to have mostly original cosmetics otherwise. The den, kitchen and formal dining room all have access to the backyard and a large very overgrown patio. There is one bedroom downstairs, with office built-ins adjacent to the bathroom, and the remaining bedrooms are upstairs, including a master suite with private balcony. There’s also a huge bonus room with hill views and built-ins on the second level. The backyard has a bit of grass, but is mostly patio and pool with some slope over a busy street, but with a lot of mature foliage. The attached garage has an internal entrance that leads to the laundry room.”

Cuba plays a role in the upcoming “Machete Kills,” a new over-the-top shoot ‘em up featuring a heroine with a gun for a bra and Charlie Sheen as the president, to be released on Sept. 13. He will also be one of the presenters of the Tony Awards on June 9.

Ryan Stiles House EncinoRyan Stiles, another celebrity represented by Lagnese, just sold his home in Encino, CA for $3.1 million. The 7,361 square foot home includes five bedrooms and 5.75 baths. Ryan must like to entertain, because the house has a ton of space for it, including a large pool and patio, and a living room with piano and pool table. In the listing photos you can see a director’s chair with Ryan Stiles’ name on it right next to the pool table. There are several built-in bars, a media screening room, and a loft that is currently being used as a music room. The home is located next to other celebrities, including Selena Gomez and Nick Lachey/Vanessa Minnillo.

The show Ryan is most known for, ”Who’s Line is It Anyway,” returns to television on July 16, on the CW Network.

Ellen and Portia have made a fortune from TV shows – and real estate. The couple owns multiple properties in the L.A. area, including the $26.5 million dollar Montecito mansion they purchased last month. This time they’re selling a low key penthouse in Beverly Hills for $899,000. The couple purchased the two bedroom, two bath condo on May 7, 2010, for $835,000, under a trust operated by Harley J. Neuman. It’s unknown if Portia and Ellen ever lived there, or if it was just a place for friends and family to crash while in town.

Jim Carrey

23418 Malibu Colony Rd, Malibu, CA 90265Jim Carrey Malibu Home
List Price: $13,400,000
Beds: 3
Baths: 4

Jim Carrey’s career has hit a few roadblocks lately, but his bank account hasn’t. The actor just sold his 2,800 square foot Malibu mansion for $13.4 million. He’s been trying to unload it since June 2011, when he listed it for $18 million. That was almost twice as much as he paid in 2002, when he purchased it for $9.75 million! The home is located in Malibu Colony, an ultra-private neighborhood where guards check every trunk…for cameras. The buyers must enjoy their privacy; they purchased the home under an LLC called “Colony Residence 99” – with no known officers.

Tom Hanks

956 Corsica Dr, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272 Tom Hanks Pacific Palisades Home
List Price: $5,225,000
Beds: 4
Baths: 5.5
Listed by: Mary Lu Tuthill, Coldwell Banker-Brentwood

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson just listed this 6,300 square foot Pacific Palisades home for $5,225,000. The couple has owned it since 1988, when they purchased it for $1.9 million. This isn’t the first time they’ve tried to sell the Spanish-style estate. It was first listed April 27, 2012, for $5,450,000, and since then it has been listed and de-listed over and over again, sometimes on the same day. We’ll see if it finally sells this time, or if they pull it off the market once again.

Jodi Foster

9219 Flicker Way, Los Angeles, CA 90069Jodi Foster Home
List Price: $6,399,000
Beds: 5

Listed by: David Kramer, Hilton & Hyland

“Silence of the Lambs” star Jodie Foster sought some silence of her own at this ultra-private estate on the renowned Bird Streets of Los Angeles. She just listed the residence for $6,399,000 after owning it for 18 years. The Spanish-style manse was built in 1935 and comes with a guest house, screening room, and a beautiful pool in the courtyard, which is surrounded by tall hedges. Foster purchased the home from Cheryl Tiegs, known as the world’s first supermodel, in 1995.

Billy Joel

82 La Gorce Cir, Miami Beach, FL 33141Billy Joel Miami Beach Home
List Price: $13,750,000
Beds: 7
Baths: 8.5
Listed by: Jorge Uribe, One Sotheby’s Int’l Realty

Billy Joel can no longer sing “You’re My Home” to this fabulous Miami Beach abode. He just sold the Mediterranean-style estate for $13.75 million. That’s one million dollars below the asking price! The singer purchased the home in 2006 for $13.5 million, so he didn’t make much from the sale. The 8,880 square foot manse is located on La Gorce Island, a prestigious neighborhood that has been home to other celebrities, including Lil Wayne, Matt Damon, and Cher.

Rosie O’Donnell

43 Star Island Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139Rosie ODonnell Home
List Price: $17,500,000
Beds: 12
Baths: 11.5
Listed by: Pablo Alfaro, Douglas Elliman

In April Rosie O’Donnell listed this unique home in Miami for a whopping $17.5 million, and although a sale hasn’t been reported, according to The Real Estalker, the estate just sold for $12,675,000. O’Donnell purchased the home in 1999 for $6.75 million, and did extensive renovations on the property. It probably needed a little TLC; in the 1970s it was the headquarters of the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church, a massive marijuana cartel claiming to be its own religion. A few trippy-looking features include a large and twisted tropical tree in the driveway, a hammerhead shark statue perched above the stairs, and a large exotic fish tank in the dining room.
